How long does it take to process a UK ETA application?
The official processing time for a UK ETA is up to 72 hours (3 days). However, if the application is complete and error-free, eligible travelers receive their approved ETA within 1 hour in most cases. Delays may occur if additional information is needed or the details provided are incorrect.
How long is a UK ETA valid for?
The UK ETA is valid for two years and allows multiple stays of up to six months in the UK.

Does a UK ETA guarantee entry into the United Kingdom?
No, a UK ETA does not automatically grant entry into the United Kingdom. Final permission to enter the UK will still be subject to a decision from a Border Force officer.
What countries can I visit with a UK ETA?
You can use your UK ETA to visit any country in the United Kingdom, including England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. If you’ve entered the United Kingdom on a UK ETA, you do not need subsequent visas for these countries.
Do you still need a UK visa if you have a UK ETA?
No. While the UK ETA isn’t a visa, the 2 travel documents are mutually exclusive. Travelers who need a UK ETA do not require a UK or England visa for short stays. Similarly, travelers requiring a UK visa for short stays do not qualify for a UK ETA.

No, if you remain airside during your transit.
